Management Team

Tien Vu, CEO: Tien is the founder and CEO of Vumasco where he provides the overall vision, strategic direction for the company. Tien is also responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company. Tien has over 18 years of experience in wireless engineering, management, building and growing start-up wireless telecom and software companies. Before founding Vumasco, Tien served as the Vice President of Corporate Development at Vuico. In 1997, Tien co-founded TTK Wireless Telecom and served as the founding President and CEO. TTK helped wireless carriers (such as T-Mobile, Sprint PCS, Verizon, Cingular, and RCC) and wireless equipment providers (such as Nortel, Nokia, and Lucent) to design, build, optimize and launch many wireless networks. Tien sold his entire equity interest to TTK’s remained partners in 1999. Prior to TTK Wireless Telecom, Tien has also co-founded and led the Wireless Telecom Division of Paragon Solutions (acquired by First Consulting Group and now part of Computer Sciences Corporation).

Tien's previous experience includes engineering and management roles at Motorola and Mazda. While at Motorola Tien helped develop and launch the iDEN wireless networks (Nextel).

David Tran, Chief Technology Officer: David has 20 years of experience developing software systems, including mobile voice and data communications systems, ranging from FM two-way radio networks to cellular/PCS networks. David brings extensive technical and management experience from working at Motorola, 3Com and Siemens in different technical and management roles in product development and product support. David helped major carriers domestically and internationally, including Sprint PCS and Verizon Wireless, to deploy their 2.5G/3G wireless data networks.

David received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.

Vijay Agarwal, Vice President, Engineering: Vijay has over 15 years of experience with mobile voice and data communication systems primarily with development of two-way private trunked systems at Motorola. Vijay's hands-on approach to management has evolved from extensive experience with development and support for customers who need high availability from their mission-critical communications systems. Vijay has led numerous successful embedded real-time software projects related to call processing and operational management of the trunked systems.

Vijay received a Bachelor of Science degree from IT-BHU, India and his Masters in Computer Science and Engineering from Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI.
